The Woodlands Texas Waterway

Despite its newfound popularity, The Woodlands Texas Waterway is still in its infancy. In fact, the concept was first pictured on a napkin sketch by George Mitchell, founder and developer of The Woodlands. Mitchell’s vision for the waterway was implemented when construction of the Waterway began near The Woodlands Mall and Lake Robbins in 1999. Waterway Square Park

Waterway Square Park is a one-acre public plaza with tree-shaded green spaces and water features. You can take a waterway cruiser or trolley ride to enjoy the sights. Waterway Square is also home to several unique dining and entertainment experiences. Try a tapas meal at 1252 Tapas Bar & Kitchen, or enjoy a beer and a bite at Baker St. Pub & Grill, which features live music and classic pub fare.

Cru Food & Wine Bar

Hubbell & Hudson

Fine dining has come to The Woodlands with the addition of a new hub for the area, Hubbell & Hudson. Led by Chef Austin Simmons, a native of Texas and alumnus of swanky Dallas eatery Mansion, the bistro features a cream-colored middle ground and an impressive menu of seafood, meats and vegetables. Highlights include 48-hour-marinated pork short ribs, oysters, and parmesan-crumbled crab and truffle pasta.

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria is a casual New York-style chain restaurant offering brick-oven pizzas, calzones and more. It also offers beer and wine.

Cureight

Cureight is a 25-seat restaurant featuring an eight-course tasting menu with wine pairings. Its chef, Austin Simmons, is a Texas native and Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef who blends classic French technique with a love of simple dishes.
